Born in Leeds, James Heseldin trained as an architectural draughtsman. After several years of living in the USA, the artist brought his family back to Newlyn, a fishing port in south-west Cornwall, where he rented a studio and began to paint full-time. Heseldin’s watercolour paintings depict Cornish street and harbour scenes. His work is found in a number of private and public collections including the Penlee House Gallery & Museum, Cornwall.
