
This striking silver print, by Helen E. Miller (active 1920s-1930s), depicts the Queensboro Bridge, NY. The photograph was exhibited at the 38th Annual Exhibition of Pictorial Photography of the Department of Photography of the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences. The selection committee consisted of Susan A. Hutchinson, Curator of Prints of the Brooklyn Museum, Nicholas Haz and Morris Greenberg. The exhibit was held at the Brooklyn Museum from March 6 to March 30, 1928. As per the stamp on verso of print, the image was also submitted to Photo-Era magazine's beginners' competition of 1927.
The photograph measures 8"x4.5" (mat: 20"x16"). Generally very good condition, various imperfections: small <1cm tear at left edge of print, Brooklyn Institute board broken at edges, and mat has some markings (see images for details).
