The charcoal drawing shows a pensive Harvey Dinnerstein in profile. The piece was created in 1986 by Karen Forsell at the National Academy of Design in New York. The back of the frame states that the model did not show up that day and thus the teacher, Harvey Dinnerstein, stepped in!

Dinnerstein is an artist and educator who has taught a generation of students dedicated to the figurative tradition. His work is in many private, corporate, and museum collections, including the Lehman Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
