
This colour aquatint, by Canadian-Hungarian artist Nicholas Hornyansky, depicts Fort Chambly located south of Montreal, Quebec. Hornyansky is best known for his aquatints of buildings and landscapes in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes but also worked in watercolor, ink and gouache. His prints can be found in numerous museum collections including the Library of Congress (Washington DC), the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, ON) and the Museum London (London, ON). The work is elegantly framed; both print and frame are in good condition.
