This stunning halftone print, depicting a Gatineau pulp mill along the Ottawa River, was created by John De Forest Stull. Published in the December 1937 issue of Fortune Magazine, the image is the frontispiece for the ‘International Paper & Power’ article (see full article here). The sharp modern and expressive lines are reminiscent of the style of the era. The print is in mint condition and ready to be matted and framed.
De Forest Stull was a painter and WPA muralist for Radio City Music Hall, NY. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Yale University in 1933 and a Master’s in Fine Arts Degree from Columbia University in 1936. De Forest Stull earned a living as an art director for Norcross Greeting Cards.
