This museum-quality serigraph is by American artist Calvin Burnett (1921-2007). A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Boston University, his work can be found in many American collections including the Petrucci Collection of African-American Art (Asbury, NJ), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY), and the Museum of fine Arts (Boston, MA). Most recently, Burnett’s work was included in Art & Protest: Artists as Agents of Social Change, an exhibition organized by the Middlebury College Museum of Art (Middlebury, VT).
