This stunning lithograph shows the massive twin spires of the cathedral of Cologne—one of Europe’s finest gothic monuments. Seated at a table near the window is the artist herself, Vita P. Solomon, sketching the two towers on a large sheet of paper. Solomon frequently travelled to Europe and exhibited in London and Paris, winning a Silver Medal at the Paris Salon of 1966 and Honourable Mention in 1965. She held several solo and group shows in the US. A Cologne Cathedral print, from the same edition as offered here, can be found in the collection of the Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, Connecticut.
